You know ADHD is affecting your relationship - but you don't know what to do next.
Maybe you don't know where to start. Or maybe you've already tried making changes on your own, but you're still not making the progress you hoped for. You may still be dealing with:
- Recurring arguments and communication breakdowns
- Resentment or unequal responsibilities
- Emotional escalation
- Broken agreements or loss of trust
- Parent-child dynamics
- Difficulty turning good intentions into lasting change
What is ADHD & Marriage Consulting?
Our consultants bring specialized expertise in ADHD and its impact on relationships, helping individuals and couples better understand their challenges and find practical ways forward.
Many of our consultants are licensed therapists or certified ADHD coaches, and all receive specialized training in the ADHD & Marriage approach developed by Melissa Orlov.
Rather than trying to fix everything at once, your consultant helps you focus on what matters most so you can get unstuck, reopen lines of communication, and begin making meaningful progress together.
Depending on your needs, your consultant can help you:
- Understand how ADHD affects your relationship and keeps you stuck
- Identify what to focus on first
- Improve communication and reduce conflict
- Address resentment, rebuild trust, and establish healthier boundaries
- Develop practical, ADHD-aware strategies for follow-through and shared responsibilities
The goal is to help you focus your energy where it can make the greatest difference in your relationship.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Do both partners need to participate?
No. We work with couples as well as individuals. Sometimes one partner begins consulting on their own, while other situations are better suited to working together as a couple.
-
Can the ADHD partner get individual support?
Yes. Individual ADHD coaching can be helpful on its own or alongside couples consulting, particularly when the ADHD partner wants support with follow-through, organization, time management, or other ADHD-related challenges.
-
Is consulting the same as therapy?
No. ADHD & Marriage Consulting provides personalized support to help individuals and couples understand ADHD-related relationship patterns and make meaningful changes in their relationships. It is not psychotherapy or medical advice.
Some of our consultants are licensed mental health professionals, but services provided through ADHD & Marriage are consulting or coaching. For medical or mental health treatment, please work with an appropriate licensed healthcare provider.
-
Can I use my HSA or FSA to pay for consulting?
No. Our consulting services are not covered by insurance, including FSA or HSA plans. We cannot accept payment directly from HSA or FSA accounts. We do not provide superbills.
-
Where do sessions take place?
Consulting sessions are held virtually. We highly recommend you are in a quite and undisturbed place when joining the session.
-
How often will I meet with my consultant?
It depends on your needs, goals, budget, and progress. Many clients begin with weekly or every-other-week sessions and move to every other week or monthly as they make progress. Some choose more intensive support, such as twice-weekly sessions or multi-day intensives, while others meet less frequently for ongoing support. You and your consultant will determine the schedule that works best for you.
